The local zoo has lots of interesting animals. There are lions, polar bears, penguins and lots more. All the animals need to eat well if they are to stay healthy. Naturally, different animals need different types of food. As you will see food and its preparation can be very expensive, and this is a big worry for the zoo. At the moment the food bill costs £7,945 each week, which is a lot more than the zoo can afford.

Task 2 The manager wants cut the food bill down to £5,000 per week. Buying less food, or cheaper food is not an option. The only thing they can do now is to sell some of the animals to another zoo. Now you have created your spreadsheet, try changing the numbers of animals to reduce the total weekly food bill to £5,000. Do it by trial and error Find three different solutions to the problem. Copy each solution to a new part of the spreadsheet. In text boxes, explain what your solution is and what the new food bill is. |
